About three months ago, over 150 souls were lost to a Dana Airlines crash in Lagos, Nigeria. Thousands of lives were affected because they were all connected in one way or the other. In other words, human life is invaluable.
This week, the Federal Government of Nigeria re-instated the license of the commercial carrier, thereby giving it the ticket to continue its daily services.
Nevertheless, it is unnecessary to dissect the political jargon that pervades the issue. One thing is simple and basic. In any society, human life is paramount to any other. As much as the US has a population of over 330 million people, it is common political thought, especially during President George W. Bush's era, that the value of an American life is more than the value of a group of people of other nationalities.
Nigeria as a whole- people and government need to start thinking this way. For our today, tomorrow and our future.
Obinna Ajuonuma, the son of Late Levi Ajuonuma who died in the crash, has created a petition to boycott/stop this move by the federal government. He, along with other concerned nigerians enjoin you to sign this petition. You don't need to be a journalist or an activist to do something. Take charge. Simply follow the link below.
Thank you,
Nina Ene.
